LAUNCHES A NEW VERSION OF TYREMOTION THAT COMBINES SAFETY AND RELIABILITY

March 2024 - Following a successful launch at the EQUIP AUTO show in Lyon last September, APIMOVE is now offering the latest version of TYREMOTION technology, providing additional legal and safety information. The company has finalized the API, which has been enriched with two new services from the beginning of March: a detection system for the 3PMSF pictogram and the display of indicative tire pressure. These features make perfect sense when you consider that some of the questions most frequently asked by motorists are: "Are my tires properly inflated?" or "Is my car well equipped for winter?

TYREMOTION, A CONSTANTLY EVOLVING TECHNOLOGY...

In 2024, the company goes one step further and, thanks to its expertise in Image Recognition, extends TYREMOTION's functionalities to provide access, in addition to essential information such as vehicle make and model and tire dimensions, to two new services that will optimize safety.

Reminder: In 2021, the French “Loi Montage came into force, making winter tires or the presence of non-slip equipment (chains, socks) in the boot of the car mandatory for 48 French departments during the winter season, i.e. from November 1 to the following March 31. Until 2024, M+S tires (mud + snow) are authorized under the Loi Montagne, and tires bearing only the M+S marking may be used until November 1, 2024. Thereafter, the 3PMSF marking will be compulsory and the only one tolerated (without this type of tire, you'll need anti-skid devices in your car to continue driving in these zones with M+S tires, on pain of a fine and possible immobilization of the vehicle).

Indicative tire pressure or pressure recommended by the manufacturer.

According to a study commissioned by Apollo Tyres, only 42% of motorists carry out the recommended monthly check of their tire pressure. This is not enough, given that low tire pressure reduces vehicle stability, accelerates tire wear, and increases fuel consumption. Very low tire pressure can lead to overheating and irreversible damage. Excessive tire pressure also reduces driving comfort and safety, as the part of the tire in contact with the road surface is smaller.

Like the first version of TYREMOTION, these new functions are accessible in the same way, simply by :
- Taking a photo of a wheel on your vehicle
- Being guided to display the tire's technical specifications
- Continuing your purchase on the website of your usual retailer, who will then take over from you

TYREMOTION targets all BtoB and BtoC sales channels for tires, wheels and accessories.
