THE TIRE COLOGNE: Three questions to Frank Jung, Continental

8 Jun 2017

Frank Jung, Continental

Mr. Jung, thanks a lot for this interview! Please introduce yourself briefly.

My name is Frank Jung, 58 years of age. I have been working at Continental in different positions for the last 30 years. For 10 years, I have been the managing director of Vergölst, a trading subsidiary of Continental. Since 2010, I am the Head of Marketing and Sales for car tyres in the replacement market Germany.

1. How do you adapt yourself to the industry trends?

We watch the market carefully and put a lot of effort into always finding the best solutions for the challenges that our customers are facing. This includes developing technologically leading products, providing modern POS materials as well as conducting targeted sales activities like the ContiTreuePrämie or the Uniroyal satisfaction guarantee. Another focus lies on advising our business partners regarding the challenges that are resulting from the internet, networking and digitisation.

2. In your eyes, what makes a successful trade fair?

From a successful trade fair, we’re expecting many high quality and new business contacts. Talking face-to-face to our long-time business partners is most important to us.

3. What are you expecting from THE TIRE COLOGNE?

While we’re curious on the restart in Cologne, we’re also hoping to meet many national as well as international trade visitors, just like in the past. The Cologne Trade Fair with its modern marketing strategy and excellent infrastructure will surely attract many visitors. Also, the vibrant city of Cologne and the short distances to the main station and to the big airports in the Rhine-Main region will play its part in ensuring a well-attended trade fair.
