Hands on: Tire change and waste tire disposal live
18 May 2022
The demonstration areas in halls 7 and 8 are among the highlights of THE TIRE COLOGNE. In live demos, producers and craft will be showcasing their skill sets on the (dis-)mounting of large and UHP-/run-flat tires as well as on the tire disposal.
The big screen: Assembly of commercial vehicle tires
The (dis-)mounting of large tires with a width of 1.5 metres and more for use of industrial. Construction, agriculture, and forestry requires special know-how. The Bohnenkamp training centre crew demonstrates how it can be managed professionally and safely. The leading European distributor for commercial vehicle tires will show its assembly machines for tires with an external diameter of up to 2.6 metres and 1.5 metres in width live on stage.
On the safe side: Assembly of UHP-/run-flat tires
With cars, too, the trend moves towards wider tires. Even with middle-class cars, low-profile dimensions, wheel diameters of 20 inches, as well as tires with run-flat properties have become standard. In the demonstration area, experts will be showing which equipment and qualifications mechanics need for a safe, professional tire service.
Professional waste disposal: this is what happens to waste tires
Each year, Germany accumulates around 600,000 tonnes of waste tires. The proper disposal and processing is taken care of by specialised companies. How waste tires end up in the right disposal channels is explained in the demonstration area of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Zertifizierte Altreifen Entsorger (ZARE) in BRV in hall 7.
